Hi Lucy! Thanks so much for joining me over here on the blog. You’re the super glam co-owner of Pitch alongside your husband and Masterchef Champion, Kenny Tutt. You opened Pitch earlier this year to rave reviews and a long waiting list. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary in July and enjoyed every single plateful of food (the savoury doughnuts are to die for 🤤). And it’s not just the food that’s excellent. The atmos is an unusual blend of uber stylish and super warm. It’s a combination that restaurants rarely pull off with such authenticity. When we came, we felt more like we were in someone’s ultra chic home than paying customers in a smart restaurant. Such a treat. We really must come back soon.

Sussex food or drink that makes you go 😋?

The amount of fantastic produce we have in Sussex is amazing! From wonderful fish and dairy produce to fruit and vegetables. This makes it very hard to choose just one! I’m a big cheese fan and love the beautiful Burwash Rose cheese produced in Stonegate, East Sussex melted on some fresh sourdough bread with a spoonful of chutney – Bliss!

Favourite place to go for coffee in Sussex?

I’ve got to be biased here and say that I love our coffees here at Pitch. We stock a beautiful blend handcrafted by Elliott from Back Yard Coffee in Ditchling. It’s always smooth and full of fruity chocolatey flavours.

Favourite Sussex pub for a Sunday roast?

The Chimney House, Brighton is perfect for a Sunday roast, its always warm and inviting and ideal for the whole family.

Favourite Sussex tipple?

It must always be a delicious crisp cold glass of [Wiston Estate] Goring Blanc de Blanc.

Favourite Sussex dish or Sussex-inspired recipe?

We have great fish on the Sussex coast and you can’t beat a great plate of fish and chips. For a bit of luxury I would say my favourite Sussex dish is line caught Turbot from the Sussex coast, served with homemade tartare and chunky chips.

Banoffee Pie or Sussex Pond Pudding?

Definitely Bannoffe Pie!!!
